Your ceremony is an important day for you and you should be able to relax and enjoy it knowing that your celebrant has got everything sorted. For this, you need to get on with your celebrant, know that she/he 'gets' you and that your ceremony is as important to her/him as it is to you. So - this is the only bit where I talk about me, your ceremony is all about you but you need to know something about me to know if we'd work well together.

I suppose what's really important to me is that my dad was from Wales, and it's from there that I get my sense of my Celtic heritage, and it's where my sensitivity and creativity comes from. But my mum was from Yorkshire and I have her sensibilities - practical, get on with things and no messing about. And I do love a cup of tea! The rest is just me - things I've learned and skills I've developed from my 30 years as a teacher and academic, from doing voluntary work in Bosnia, from travelling and from just living.

What else? I like the simple things in life - good food, good wine, good company and I especially like a walk by the sea (pity I live in the middle of the country!) and I hope that this year is the year that we get a dog, we've been talking about it for long enough. I do my bit to save the planet, although I know there's always more that I could do. I love the work that I do and I feel myself fortunate to live as I do. And although I take my work seriously I like to enjoy it too.

And, just for your reassurance, I am professionally qualified and experienced. I hold a Certificate in Civil Celebrancy from the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants and I have created and conducted all types of ceremonies. I am the in-house wedding celebrant for Sheffield Millenium Gallery. As a member of FOIC I have public liability insurance of up to £5million and professional indemnity insurance cover, but I hope I'll never need it!

I would love to work with you on planning and creating an exclusive and personal ceremony so get in touch and let's get started
