Whether your ceremony is a joyous occasion, such as a civil partnership or a wedding, or a sad one, such as a funeral or memorial, it is important that you have the ceremony conducted by someone who you get on with and feel confident in. Here is a bit about me to help you begin to get to know me.
First, I am a qualified and professional independent celebrant, the in-house wedding celebrant for the Millenium Gallery Sheffield, and a member of the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants (FOIC). I conduct exclusive ceremonies to mark important life events, including civil partnerships, weddings, vow renewals, baby namings, funerals and memorials. I love the work that I do, I enjoy meeting people and being able to help them at some of the most important times of their lives, I enjoy the creative process of planning a ceremony and the performance part of conducting it. I have high professional standards so I enjoy organising the ceremony, paying attention to detail and, on the day, ensuring (as far as I can) that ceremonies run according to plan. I consider it a privilege to be a celebrant.
Prior to my training I was a teacher and a teacher-educator and I have undertaken counsellor training. I have lots of experience of working with people in different environments and situations, this helps me to quickly establish good relationships with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I enjoy meeting people and getting to know them, and I look forward to hearing the story behind your ceremony. My qualifications include a PhD and I have written all kinds of things over the years. I enjoy being creative and writing ceremonies that reflect who you are and what you want. I am experienced in public speaking so will be able to present your ceremony confidently.
For your reassurance, as a member of FOIC I have public liability insurance of up to £5million and professional indemnity insurance cover.
